Background
The Governable Spacemakers Fellowship was designed to support the extension of governance capabilities in an already existing digital art artifact or world. The fellowship invited a team of three fellows to combine artistic, technical, and ethnographic methods to produce an interactive online space for exploring a particular aspect of self-governance, as well as a speculative ethnography detailing their the team's working process and the implications of their work in the context of an evolving landscape of where and how governance happens online.
You can read the open call and the newsletter announcing the fellows for more background.

Situating The Small Hassles Court
Small Hassles Court is a digital game where players practice different approaches to interpersonal conflict resolution and self-governance. The court is situated within the broader narrative world and landscape of Twisterland, an online game world designed by Plot Twisters that fosters self-reflection and emotional literacy.
Since 2020, Plot Twister's design collective, made up of mostly women and POC from diverse walks of life, identity backgrounds, and skill sets, has spent five years conducting trauma-informed and interdisciplinary research, developing concept art, and designing game mechanics.
Small Hassles Court is an extension of that already existing digital art world and as such builds on past research to explore what the fellows posit as the smallest, most fragile and vital scale of self-governance: emotional co-regulation.

We recommend hoping on a call with the other player, and using the Small Hassles Court as a tool to facilitate your communication.
